Montigny sous Chatillon, Vallée de la Marne with our Chardonnay from Vitry. Champagne “Les Vignes de Montigny” is made from two plots on the southern slopes of Montigny. The exposure is due south on sands and marls, a mixture of clay and limestone called Marne. The plots are made up of young Pinot Noir (15 years old) and very old Meunier vines (65 years old).

To the eye, the wine is a golden colour. To the nose, the aromas are generous with a bouquet of red flowers and red fruit. On the palate, the flavour is supple and creamy. The wine is full-bodied, hearty, providing a lingering finish.

100% Chardonnay Grand Cru –  Le Mesnil Sur Oger

Dosage: 4g/L

Light golden colour. The nose is expressive, with aromas of citrus fruits, white flowers, as well as slightly buttery notes. In the mouth, the wine tastes fresh, with notes of mineral, with a great length. 93/100 Mirco Tarducci

This Le Mesnil-based Côtes des Blancs family domaine is undergoing an energetic transition led by Claire Robert who has taken over and persuaded her husband Jean-Baptiste to join her (and stop commuting to Paris!) as her father Bertrand nears retirement. Some 14 ha are owned, but the heart of the domaine is the 6.5 ha in grand cru Le Mesnil itself. Viticulture is as sustainable as possible and the HVE certification has been awarded. Winemaking combines stainless steel and barriques and blocked malolactic for all cuvées. 100% Chardonnay and 100% Le Mesnil grand cru. The second wine in the range, one up from the entry level bottling. Base wine from 2016. 70% Stainless steel and 30% in barriques (aged for 10 months). Four years on lees. Disgorged February 2021. Dosage 4 g/l.

The fruit for this wine was sourced from Le Mesnil sur Oger only on the heart of the Terroir and on plots selected below :
Les Vaucherots, Les Coullemets du Midi, Les Finciarts Les Chétillons are plots with very low yields, 5000 to 6000 KG per Ha maximum which produce grapes of great depth and great acidity which is important. Low PH which allows us to pick them very late and therefore at full maturity.

Golden colour with aromas reminiscent of exotic fruits. The mouthfeel is full and rich with a nice persistent very long clean mineral finish. 95/100 Mirco Tarducci

The 2018 is open with aromas of acacia flower white peach and ripe lemon, the palate showing a touch of really high quality oak with just ripe stone fruit and crisp fresh clean and long finish. Delicious.

Domaine Berthelemot Chassagne Montrachet ‘Abbaye de Morgeot’ 1er Cru 2019

The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot 1er Cru offers attractive scents of walnut and smoke, yellow flower. The palate is well balanced with pineapple, nectarine, Satsumas and ginger stem, mixed with a pinch of white pepper towards the finish. Good energy here, very well-made and involving white Burgundy. Drink now or age for the next 10 years.

Domaine Berthelemot ‘Les Murgers Dents Chien’ Saint-Aubin 1er Cru 2019

Located above the Montrachet grand cru field, this climat (or plot) is the upper extremity of the Puligny vineyard; the “dents de chiens” (or dog’s teeth) refers to the sharp stones which can be found.

Light in colour with a golden hue; good expression on the nose combining a delicate mineral aroma and an aroma of stone fruit;  The palate is richer then Chassagne M but balanced with a good  creaminess on the entry. Lightly spiced with lemongrass and touches of orange rind, slightly toast sensation which makes this wine complex and attractive and in the mouth it is full and mineral with a saline, cohesive and long finish.
